Referred to as an “Athens on the Limmat” in the past, likened to a small-scale Berlin with a Mediterranean feel today, Zurich is a city of superlatives, but on the cosy side. Consistently ranking among the most livable cities in the world, it is both transport hub and financial capital of Switzerland while attracting freethinkers and creatives. Lenin prepared for revolution here, and so did Einstein. So what lies behind this success story? And what about the flip side? This guided tour of the exhibition “Einfach Zürich” delves into Zurich’s multifaceted past and connects it to the present. 

Art historian, museum educator and former expat Mimi Pecnik Rommens will guide through the galleries of Einfach Zürich at the National Museum Zurich.
